Absent for almost 3 months

Wow! I have absent for almost three months...And it's almost the end of 2016.

3 months have gone in just a blink of an eye. Hmm, what have I been up to? Let me think...

In no particular order, let me see what I can see in my photo albums...

1. SF's and SJ's concert.
It was SF's last kindergarten concert. We were glad that SJ managed to dance in her concert after so many hiccups and worries that she wouldn't want to dance...

2. Malacca 3D2N stay
VK decided that during the kids schools holidays, we would stay over at our grandparents house in Malacca for 3D2N. It was a different experience as we visited Teresa and visited places that we wouldn't normally visit. The kids are playing well together too.

3. Jackie's wedding
It was a gathering for all relatives during the wedding. So much so that we didn't really keep track of the time. Apparently the dinner started late (which we didn't mind) and it was sooo fun!

4. Genting one day trip with ol' pal Erin
It was our maiden trip together (can you believe that we didn't travel together despite knowing each other for sooo long???). And we just hung out and enjoyed the cool weather.

5. Nano White workshop at Yellow Apron
Me and YF attended the Nano White workshop at Yellow Apron (which is situated at the old Block C of UTAR, Section 17). It was an intimate affair and I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. Thanks to #newtidemagazine

6. Christmas gathering with SWDS girls
Another intimate affair with Ivy, Soo Ching, Jazz and Ivy's 2 children.

There will be no photos of these (malas to dig in the photos). Will try to update one more before the month / year ends. Tomorrow is the last working day for 2016! How excited!

Day 4 Myeongdong, Hongdae

#throwbackpost

*** This trip around I didn't have much time to update, not even Instagram. While I did browse through but I never got to update much, which is quite out if the norm for me during my travels. I guess that we are really utilizing our stay in Seoul. Anyway, back to the post. ***

Today, we went to Hongdae first. As we wanted to get some specific items back home. Then we dumped our loot back at the hostel and made our way to Myeongdong. We went around the streets and came across this shop which sold ice cream in the shape of a rose. I had one of those and VK had the Honey comb one. Both are mouth watering delicious! VK wanted to visit the cathedral and I brought her there. After that, we went down the road and saw many of the roadside hawkers popped out simultaneously one after the other. My guess is that the law enforcers were around and they went into hiding. Since they just came out, we would need to wait a while for them to start their cooking.

Then I went to find 8 seconds. The one store I had in mind to pop over due to GD's collaboration with them. I bought two clothings there (yes, I'm a GD fan) while VK just rolled her eyes at me. I'm a happy girl!

After that it's makan time to sapu the street food! Both of us ate RM100 worth of street food, it was nuts. But oh so rewarding.

Then I took her to the opposite side to see their cute Tayo bus station, Robocar Poli, Amber and Pororo. Then we walked around the underground shopping where I bought a BB light stick! I've been thinking of getting it since forever. (I'm a little cray, I know)

After that, we returned back to Hongdae for a final walk before returning to the hostel earlier so that we can shower and do our last laundry before packing up for our return home.

Day 3 Ehwa University, Gwangjang Market, Dongdaemun, Itaewon

We started the day with laundry. Hahaha

I brought only 3 outfit for our 5 days as I believe that we will be getting new clothes from our shopping in Ehwa.

Ehwa proved to be fruitful as we had bought lots of stuff. Ate some of the street food before adjourning to Gwangjang market. We decided to leave our purchases back at the hostel (best decision ever) before meeting Jazz and Bee at Gwangjang market. Manatau VK suddenly informed that she had misplaced her phone and we backtracked our steps back to the hostel where we had found it.

We were really late reaching Gwangjang market. Luckily both Jazz and Bee were gracious too wait for us. We tried the bibindeok which is quite nice. And walked around Gwangjang for a while.

Since we had some time to spare before our appointment with Seon Young, we dropped by Dongdaemun so VK can see for herself the toy street.

Both me and VK and Seon Young and her friend Hee Jin arrived at the station at the same time. Apparently we were in the same train but different coach.

Both Seon Young and Hee Jin brought us for BBq (requested by us) and we walked quite a bit. Not that I mind, as we managed to see a different side of Itaewon as we walked in between streets and over the hills.

The place which we ate is crazily crowded. But the ambience couldn't get any more local and I love it. After dinner and maekju we headed for coffee to have a chat as the BBq place wasn't a conducive place to make conversations.

We ended the night saying our goodbyes on the metro platform but it was the best night to date.

Day 2 Incheon & Hangang Park

We headed to Incheon today! I have never explored this part of the city before. It took us nearly an hour to reach there by metro and we are really excited. Upon reaching Incheon, we booked ourselves with their local city tour which brought us to many of their scenic places. Places we stopped at are: G Tower, Solchan Park (where the celaka bus driver didn't stop and we had to wait another 30 mins), Central Park, Wolmi Traditional Park, Wolmi Culture Street and Incheon Station (China Town).

Solchan Park was absolutely beautiful even in the afternoon. The wind was brezzy and the place is absolutely stunning. I can imagine people going there for picnics, taking the kids for a run, playing their bikes and having fun!

Central Park is also a great place for outdoor activities. As the city tour guide pointed out, Incheon is an eco friendly city with lots of green facilities. I'm beginning to fall in love with this city. It is sooo laid back.

After lunch, I had to hunt down the Dal comm coffee joint which DOTS (Descendants of the sun) had most of their coffee shots. Needless to say, I was over the moon!

Chinatown was quaint in its own way. But we had arrived in the evening therefore most shops are closing (except the Chinese restaurants). It's a steep walk up the hill but it felt quite at home since it's Chinatown.

After that we headed back to Seoul and went to Hangang Park to see the Banpo Bridge. It was a long long walk to the park and even at that hour (9pm) there were many many people walking, running, jogging and cycling. And it felt sooo safe being there.

Then it was time to head back to the hostel. It was another long long walk to the nearest metro but once we saw the exit we were estatic! Never been so happy to see the Metro.

Our legs definitely paid the price. They were sore and tired. But it was worth it. We saw many things that we wouldn't be able to see otherwise.

Day 1 Sinchon & Hongdae

Second time in Korea within the year. I think I might have utilized my quota. Now I'm really not sure when is the next time I will be back.

We arrived in the morning and went to our accomodation in Sinchon but which is near to Hongdae.

The weather wasn't kind to us. It rained ALL DAY!!! Although I would much prefer it to bring VERY HOT in summer.

Accompanying VK as it is her first visit here. But we got an unruly welcome from the Ajumma from Hongik's Metro station who scolded us for not buying her shoes. Hey, it's my right whether to buy or not.

Anyway on to happier things, I showed VK some of the place which she missed previously and met up with Jazz. Also made a new friend (Jazz's friend).

It's been a gruelling 2 weeks of Olympic games. It is almost coming to an end.

I would like to thank all the athletes who did their best putting our name out there in the games. Please know that we appreciate all your hard work preparing for the games. 수고하셨습니다.

Our 4 silver and 1 bronze is by no means an easy feat! Thank you.

As the games end, let's look forward for the next Olympics in 2020.

#IanWCT2016

One of our major event for end of July and early August is Sai Yan & Chiu Teing's wedding weekend in Singapore and in KL.

First is our wedding weekend in Singapore. We took our flight out to Singapore via Fireflyz on early Saturday. We were on the same flight with Channy and Ngiam.

Upon reaching Singapore airport and collecting my WiFi router, CY took us to his house where we had pizza for lunch and had a house tour.

After lunch, CY and Ade needs to visit Ade's dad at the hospital. So me and PH head to the Gardens by the Bay since both of us haven't been there before. After walking around admiring the place, we still had a bit of time and we went to the Kuan Im temple at Bugis St. We later went to Kallang to meet up with CY and Ade before going to Kallang waterfront to see the fireworks from their National Day rehearsal. We chatted a lot throughout and the fireworks were awesome!!!

We then headed to Tiramisu Hero but it was soooo crowded. In the end, we went to this Bao place which I had forgotten the name.

Went back to CY's place to help out with some last minute #IanWCT2016 hashtags before adjourning to bed.

The next day after getting ready, we were getting ready to head to the hotel for their afternoon reception but there were no taxi to take us. After waiting for quite a while, finally found a taxi and we made it just in time for the wedding reception.

It was so different having so many friends over in Singapore for the event. But I'd say that Singaporeans are more reserved during their Yum Seng session. We did it out own way at our table tho.

After the reception, we went over to one of Orchard road's shopping complex to have bingsu and have a chat before we head off to the airport. Me, PH and KY went to People's Park Complex for KY to collect his luggage before going to the Airport. I managed to call my aunt and had this Mango shave which PH said it is not so nice anymore.

We then slowly made our way to the airport and since we are at different terminal, we parted ways then. We actually wanted to meet up before we fly but it was not possible.

Then fast forward to the following weekend, it was the KL reception. It was at Cheras Imperial Palace. It was like a small gathering but with more kids. Hahaha.

It was a really intimate lunch reception.

#july2016

Aiya, neglected this little space of mine. So, i'm going to do a major #throwback for July 2016.

Media Badminton Tournament
The annual badminton tournament for the Chinese Media. Our philosophy is to have fun!!! Although we didn't win the title but our table did win big at the lucky draw during the dinner. I got myself a Samsung Galaxy J1 which I had passed on to my mom...

Popular Bookfest 2016
Also an annual affair which our company would have a booth there selling / promoting our publications. We'd be helping out and having fun while we are at it.

That's most of July...now onto the next big event...

#bellabettertogether2016

It's is our annual trip following #cittabellamalaysia for their #bellabettertogether event. #ilovebella

It always starts with lunch followed by two workshops. This year's workshop is by Kose (skincare and makeup) and Bandi (nail care). After that we are given some time to prepare for our dinner with the stars event. In this event, no one leaves empty handed as everyone will have something from the lucky draw. If you are lucky, you get more than one gift! I received one and that is quite enough. <3

Next day (today) is an exercise session and treasure hunt. Today's exercise was Zumba and we had breakfast first before our treasure hunt. We came in FIRST for treasure hunt!!! Last two rounds we were in 6th (last) and 5th.

Overall it was a great event spent with friends. Till next year!
