Day 4 Myeongdong, Hongdae

#throwbackpost

*** This trip around I didn't have much time to update, not even Instagram. While I did browse through but I never got to update much, which is quite out if the norm for me during my travels. I guess that we are really utilizing our stay in Seoul. Anyway, back to the post. ***

Today, we went to Hongdae first. As we wanted to get some specific items back home. Then we dumped our loot back at the hostel and made our way to Myeongdong. We went around the streets and came across this shop which sold ice cream in the shape of a rose. I had one of those and VK had the Honey comb one. Both are mouth watering delicious! VK wanted to visit the cathedral and I brought her there. After that, we went down the road and saw many of the roadside hawkers popped out simultaneously one after the other. My guess is that the law enforcers were around and they went into hiding. Since they just came out, we would need to wait a while for them to start their cooking.

Then I went to find 8 seconds. The one store I had in mind to pop over due to GD's collaboration with them. I bought two clothings there (yes, I'm a GD fan) while VK just rolled her eyes at me. I'm a happy girl!

After that it's makan time to sapu the street food! Both of us ate RM100 worth of street food, it was nuts. But oh so rewarding.

Then I took her to the opposite side to see their cute Tayo bus station, Robocar Poli, Amber and Pororo. Then we walked around the underground shopping where I bought a BB light stick! I've been thinking of getting it since forever. (I'm a little cray, I know)

After that, we returned back to Hongdae for a final walk before returning to the hostel earlier so that we can shower and do our last laundry before packing up for our return home.

Day 3 Ehwa University, Gwangjang Market, Dongdaemun, Itaewon

We started the day with laundry. Hahaha

I brought only 3 outfit for our 5 days as I believe that we will be getting new clothes from our shopping in Ehwa.

Ehwa proved to be fruitful as we had bought lots of stuff. Ate some of the street food before adjourning to Gwangjang market. We decided to leave our purchases back at the hostel (best decision ever) before meeting Jazz and Bee at Gwangjang market. Manatau VK suddenly informed that she had misplaced her phone and we backtracked our steps back to the hostel where we had found it.

We were really late reaching Gwangjang market. Luckily both Jazz and Bee were gracious too wait for us. We tried the bibindeok which is quite nice. And walked around Gwangjang for a while.

Since we had some time to spare before our appointment with Seon Young, we dropped by Dongdaemun so VK can see for herself the toy street.

Both me and VK and Seon Young and her friend Hee Jin arrived at the station at the same time. Apparently we were in the same train but different coach.

Both Seon Young and Hee Jin brought us for BBq (requested by us) and we walked quite a bit. Not that I mind, as we managed to see a different side of Itaewon as we walked in between streets and over the hills.

The place which we ate is crazily crowded. But the ambience couldn't get any more local and I love it. After dinner and maekju we headed for coffee to have a chat as the BBq place wasn't a conducive place to make conversations.

We ended the night saying our goodbyes on the metro platform but it was the best night to date.

Day 2 Incheon & Hangang Park

We headed to Incheon today! I have never explored this part of the city before. It took us nearly an hour to reach there by metro and we are really excited. Upon reaching Incheon, we booked ourselves with their local city tour which brought us to many of their scenic places. Places we stopped at are: G Tower, Solchan Park (where the celaka bus driver didn't stop and we had to wait another 30 mins), Central Park, Wolmi Traditional Park, Wolmi Culture Street and Incheon Station (China Town).

Solchan Park was absolutely beautiful even in the afternoon. The wind was brezzy and the place is absolutely stunning. I can imagine people going there for picnics, taking the kids for a run, playing their bikes and having fun!

Central Park is also a great place for outdoor activities. As the city tour guide pointed out, Incheon is an eco friendly city with lots of green facilities. I'm beginning to fall in love with this city. It is sooo laid back.

After lunch, I had to hunt down the Dal comm coffee joint which DOTS (Descendants of the sun) had most of their coffee shots. Needless to say, I was over the moon!

Chinatown was quaint in its own way. But we had arrived in the evening therefore most shops are closing (except the Chinese restaurants). It's a steep walk up the hill but it felt quite at home since it's Chinatown.

After that we headed back to Seoul and went to Hangang Park to see the Banpo Bridge. It was a long long walk to the park and even at that hour (9pm) there were many many people walking, running, jogging and cycling. And it felt sooo safe being there.

Then it was time to head back to the hostel. It was another long long walk to the nearest metro but once we saw the exit we were estatic! Never been so happy to see the Metro.

Our legs definitely paid the price. They were sore and tired. But it was worth it. We saw many things that we wouldn't be able to see otherwise.
