#thingsihavebeenthinkingabout during CNY 2016

I dunno why but I have not been feeling all that great during this CNY.

CNY Eve was so-so only. I didn't feel exceprionally excited or whatnot. It could be due to the fact that we were celebrating it in a new place and I couldn't find the reason to be excited, really.

CNY Day 1 was a blast. I've always looked forward to it as I get to spend it with family and the La-Sallians. Even though we visited less houses, I still felt great. We skipped my house this year as I don't know where to being them to. Current or new place? Nevermind.

CNY Day 2 wasn't so great this year. Reason being most of the Aunts gathered at Rawang this year making us the only family to go Malacca. And that took away a lot of the festivities. And after lunch, the kids (SF, SJ and Rayyan) started fighting over the kid's car which SF painstakingly took out from its hiding place. Lots of tears, shouts, yells ensured after. Then came the "eldest-must-share-theory" which made SF mad and Rayyan started to hit SF for his rights and stuff. Then the parents started saying that must share and let the younger ones to play. I totally relate to that and it really hit me at that point coz it was the same when I was younger. I was the eldest and I was expected to share and let the younger ones to play. I'm expected to take care of the younger ones and expected to be responsible to them. I'm totally siding SF at this point because I feel for him. But at the same time I was sooo upset by the whole situation. (I let the parents to handle it as I would have totally lost it if I interfere) Why must the eldest be the sacrificing one? Why can't the younger ones do the same? 为什么我们要让小的?Since the car was taken by SF, why can't he enjoy it to his heart's content?
Then it made me think further until I was scared. Scared to have children of my own. I don't know how to teach them anymore. I'm doubting myself. I used to think that I want to have children of my own. Now I'm not so sure anymore.

CNY Day 3 was great in the beginning until dinner time. You see, ever since WK married things had been slightly different. I had voiced out my concern before this to him and made my stance clear and this always affected me. Day 2 we had mamak food for breakfast and today's breakfast as well. When it was dinner time, guess what? Mamak food again. I'm just this close to explosion. That we had to give in and give in time after time. Even during for lunch on Day 2 I was already upset. Instead of eating the food we prepared, they got KFC instead. Luckily it was just us, if the other aunties are around I would have just 变脸.

I've never been this negative before and it is eating me up.

CNY is supposed to be joyous and fun but it hasn't been that and I'm angry that it is not. I tried to forget about it after a night's sleep but that's not the case at this point. Which is why there is such a long post on it. I needed somewhere to vent my frustrations and hopefully it will go away for a while.

One eventful trip to Hatyai

This trip was meant for makan, beli, shopping and massages. But then...

It was a series of "first" or "第一次".
* first time in an ambulance
* first time in an emergency
* first time riding a motorcycle as a trio
* first time experiencing everything
* first time experiencing it overseas

However as bad as it seems, we are glad that it turned out okay-ish. It could have been worse. 不幸中的大幸.

But that doesn't mean it's not bad. I'm just contradicting with myself, huh?

Anyway, here is hoping that everything will turn out alright in the end.

(Still pending for updates)

Last day of 2015

Today is the last day of 2015. As I watched posts / instagrams of many friends of how their 2015 went, I can't help but to also count my blessings for the past year. Even though I can't really ponder it month by month, I'll just categorize it my way.

FAMILY
There was some incidents within the family. Mom and SJ were hospitalized in the same hospital, VK had some health issues, some was faced with work-related problems and the four of us got the chicken pox. Despite all that, I'm blessed that there were no major problems after. Everyone are healthy and that is what matters the most. I pray and hope that everyone stays healthy throughout and will continue in the new year.

FRIENDS
I'm happy to report that those closest to me are A-OK! Some minor bumps here and there. We even have a wedding to attend next year! Soooo excited and happy! Met some new friends, rekindled some friendship and lost some too along the way. D&J got married this year and it was the wedding of the year (in my books). So blessed to be involved in their wedding (albeit for a minor part).

TRAVEL
I'm so blessed to be able to travel a few times. Last year I wasn't able to travel overseas (only to Sandakan). But this year the stars aligned and I went! BKK, JPN and TW!!! It was sooo nice to be back in BKK again after so long. Unlike most people who go BKK like they travel local, this is my second visit after 10 years? Can you believe that? First time to JPN and it definitely won't be my last! I'm sure I'll be back in the future!
As for TW, it was thanks to VK who was there for her Marketing Conference and she just extended her trip. I just follow. Also not forgetting a one day trip to SG! It was sooo tiring, next time have to spend a few more days instead of a day trip.
Local travels include to Malacca and JB. Not sooo exclusive huh? Let's hope that in 2016 will bring more!

There were many more! New places for cafe hopping, turned into BB VIP in June,  consciously spending more time with family and friends (but not as much as I hoped to) and scars left from the chicken pox. *sad*

Here are my resolutions (wishes) for the coming year:

1. Count my blessings more
2. Spend more time to connect and communicate with my family and friends
3. Take good care of ownself and family
4. Travel more (locally and overseas)
5. Try to do more for others

Overall I'm blessed that things are working out in the end. That we can healthily take our steps to the new year!

Goodbye 2015!
2016, I'm coming at ya!!!

Christmas 2015

It's boxing day today! I'm just gonna jot down my Christmas celebration so far.

First was a Christmas lunch dinner with the Kai's. Mucho gusto to Chef Danny and Lady Jazz for the invitation. Thanks for letting me be a part of it. It was splendid.

Next was a Christmas lunch party which the Advertising department invited us to. Thanks for having us! Too much laughter going on. I got my present from Stanley which I can forward the gift as well (WK and WS).

And lastly a visit to the grandparents at my Uncle's place in Rawang. We had to patah balik in the morning while heading to Malacca. Very funny.

I also received a gift from good ol' Erin.

Feeling very blessed this Christmas.

Thank you.
