Say Hi to my new ride!

New friend, new ride.

It's not that the previous car was beyond repair but rather no point to repair. The mechanics advised that even after repairing the car has no value due to the distorted part of the boot.

I wasn't able to claim the other party's insurance (his insurance had lapsed and he had no valid road tax since January). So any repairs will have to come out of my own pocket. Treat it as 破财当宅. What to do?

Dad got this from the auction and it was love at first sight for him. Lol because the car looks brand new for a less than 5 years car.

I'm still not used to the car despite driving it for a few days now...

Please be good to me. 잘 부탁드립니다.

P/S: Should I name the car? #justathought

MCO ---> CMCO

The government has extended MCO by 2 weeks, 2 weeks, 2 weeks, 2 weeks, 2 weeks...you get the drift.

MCO (Movement Control Order) then became CMCO (Controlled Movement Order) where businesses are slowing opening (barbers, entertainment outlet, schools are still prohibited).

Our MCO was supposedly to end today on 12 May 2020 but is now extended till 9 June 2020. I do agree we have to extend but now with more and more businesses open, more people moving about, I'm worried.

People have starting to let their guard down, going out without mask, no social distancing, gerai tepi jalan operating... sigh

I'm worried that what we've done so far will go down the drain when the second wave comes.

Restricted Movement Order (RMO)

Restricted Movement Order 이동 제한 순서

Started last Wednesday on 18 March 2020 where non essential businesses to close for 14 days (or employees to work from home) to monitor Covid-19 from spreading by social distancing. STAY AT HOME!

Everyday what was reported is worrying and daunting. Security was on high, police checks and road block, cases rising by 3 digits alarmingly, hospitals full to the brim due to the rising cases & death tolls slowly climbing. The worst is yet to come they say. The RMO will be extended they say. 😖😖😖

Being in one of the essential business we continued working until Thursday where our CEO seriously considered to move us to work from home (WFH). In our nature of work it is quite hard to work from home because we are desktop bound. So we had to get creative.

This is my first work from home experience and today it's D-6 of RMO and D-1 of WFH. In the morning I got stuck doing one of the reports (I thought I had everything saved. Apparently not) and had to return to the office to save the file. So much for WFH. Haha

That's my work attire from home to office. Lol I thought I was going to be in and out in half an hour that's why I didn't bother to change.

Accident on Kesas Highway

March 3, 2020.

Ended with the usual Tuesday Aerial Yoga Class. I was on my way home after filing up some petrol. I was from Bandar Puteri Puchong heading home on the Kesas highway. It seems to be like normal Tuesdays or not.

9:25pm I was suddenly hit by a strong force at the back of my car which came with a loud noise and great impact. My nose / forehead hit the steering wheels and my spectacles flew behind making me blind. I was like WTF happened??? Hit the brakes!!! Hit the brakes!!! I told myself. I stopped in the middle lane of the Kesas Highway km 43.1

My nose was bleeding (due to the impact), I was blind and I can't get my car door to open! Where's my damn spectacles??? I blindlessly searched the floor and the passenger seat to no avail. Calm down Vai Yoong, calm down. I told myself. Call Dad. Tell him to come get me. I'm scared.

I called my Dad who was on his way home after yumcha from badminton. Told him where I was and managed to send him my location via WhatsApp. Then a few Indian guys and Malay guys came to me. I told them I can't open my door and asked them to help me find my spectacles. I'm absolutely vulnerable without them. They asked me to move my car to the side but I can't without my spectacles. I got down from the passenger side of the car and went to see the damage.

I couldn't believe the damage! Wow!

I went behind the passenger seat to get my things (mostly try to find my spectacles again and I finally found it). I was approached by a few Indian callmen but I said my dad is arriving soon. And I was still bleeding. One of the guys said: Kakak, I takut you lemas. Luckily around the same time my dad arrived and took me to the side and into his car so I could rest. My dad then took care of everything for me. Getting the Kesas Ronda to move my car to the side, fending off the numerous callmens, getting pictures of my car and the Honda City that struck me, arranging for a tow truck, sending me to the traffic police station, arrange for my car to be dropped at the workshop, sent me to the doctors and sending me home.

I was a mess myself with my soaked yoga towel in blood, swollen nose and in a startled state.

Me resting in dad's car. Bloddied towel not pictured.

By the time we got home it was almost 2am. I went to sleep at 4am after cleaning up. What a long night...so tired!

The next day I started to feel the whiplash due to the incident. The bruises and aches surfaced. My nose was swollen like Jackie Chan's nose, I have blue black around my eye area and my neck feels sore.

This was day 2 after the accident. I looked like I was involved in an abusive relationship. Lol

With all that, I'm grateful to be alive because the situation could be way more worse. I could possibly not be around anymore. Luckily there was no petrol leakage from the car, no cars further banged my car while being stationary in the middle of the highway, no one robbed me while I'm in that state and other way worse scenarios. I'm counting my blessings and thankful that I'm still okay.

Essay Question: 한국어를 배우면서 잊지 못할 순간이 있었기습니까?

This was a question posted to me while doing my Korean essay lesson at KLH. I loved this question as it is to describe my experience and I was able to complete this rather quickly as compared to the more serious topics which is the norm while doing essays. Mr Tan commended me saying it was a good piece. So I'm going to immortalize it on the blog. Here goes:

**********************************************

That's my original work with all the RED glory (my mistakes).
