Last day of 2015

Today is the last day of 2015. As I watched posts / instagrams of many friends of how their 2015 went, I can't help but to also count my blessings for the past year. Even though I can't really ponder it month by month, I'll just categorize it my way.

FAMILY
There was some incidents within the family. Mom and SJ were hospitalized in the same hospital, VK had some health issues, some was faced with work-related problems and the four of us got the chicken pox. Despite all that, I'm blessed that there were no major problems after. Everyone are healthy and that is what matters the most. I pray and hope that everyone stays healthy throughout and will continue in the new year.

FRIENDS
I'm happy to report that those closest to me are A-OK! Some minor bumps here and there. We even have a wedding to attend next year! Soooo excited and happy! Met some new friends, rekindled some friendship and lost some too along the way. D&J got married this year and it was the wedding of the year (in my books). So blessed to be involved in their wedding (albeit for a minor part).

TRAVEL
I'm so blessed to be able to travel a few times. Last year I wasn't able to travel overseas (only to Sandakan). But this year the stars aligned and I went! BKK, JPN and TW!!! It was sooo nice to be back in BKK again after so long. Unlike most people who go BKK like they travel local, this is my second visit after 10 years? Can you believe that? First time to JPN and it definitely won't be my last! I'm sure I'll be back in the future!
As for TW, it was thanks to VK who was there for her Marketing Conference and she just extended her trip. I just follow. Also not forgetting a one day trip to SG! It was sooo tiring, next time have to spend a few more days instead of a day trip.
Local travels include to Malacca and JB. Not sooo exclusive huh? Let's hope that in 2016 will bring more!

There were many more! New places for cafe hopping, turned into BB VIP in June,  consciously spending more time with family and friends (but not as much as I hoped to) and scars left from the chicken pox. *sad*

Here are my resolutions (wishes) for the coming year:

1. Count my blessings more
2. Spend more time to connect and communicate with my family and friends
3. Take good care of ownself and family
4. Travel more (locally and overseas)
5. Try to do more for others

Overall I'm blessed that things are working out in the end. That we can healthily take our steps to the new year!

Goodbye 2015!
2016, I'm coming at ya!!!

Christmas 2015

It's boxing day today! I'm just gonna jot down my Christmas celebration so far.

First was a Christmas lunch dinner with the Kai's. Mucho gusto to Chef Danny and Lady Jazz for the invitation. Thanks for letting me be a part of it. It was splendid.

Next was a Christmas lunch party which the Advertising department invited us to. Thanks for having us! Too much laughter going on. I got my present from Stanley which I can forward the gift as well (WK and WS).

And lastly a visit to the grandparents at my Uncle's place in Rawang. We had to patah balik in the morning while heading to Malacca. Very funny.

I also received a gift from good ol' Erin.

Feeling very blessed this Christmas.

Thank you.

Chicken pox journey

I've gotten my chicken pox this year just before the year ends...

I got it from SJ, SF and WS who got it first in that order. It's been 3 weeks after that first sign of chicken pox on my wrist. I still have lots of visible scars / holes on my face, arms, legs and body. Uggghhh...

Then there is the food restrictions (according to the elder Chinese) which has a list of stuff I'm to avoid for 100 days. So far I have broken up to around 5 times but I'm determined to avoid it as much as I possibly can.

Below are some of the pics I took for remembrance sake...

Egglings Progress Report 2

It's been two weeks since I last updated about the egglings post #jazzdanny2015. It has also been a week since I landed in the world of #chickenpox after it was circulating between the 4 of us (SJ--->SF--->WS--->me).

Anyway I'm happy to report that cactus has sprouted! And the 4-leaf clover is still going strong!

Pictures as proof:

Egglings Progress Report 1

The egglings were a wedding favor from #jazzdanny2015

I was very excited to receive it but I didn't start planting it immediately.

I took the 4-leaf clover and cactus. I started planting the 4-leaf clover and I'm happy to report that it is growing well. I just started planting cactus today and I will update more as it grows...

Here are the progress of the egglings...

#jazzdanny2015

This past week although it was tired but it was so much fun! The final outcome of the wedding deco is utterly beautiful! Kudos to the ladies behind it!

I didn't take much pictures except for the deco and settings. Other pictures are courtesy of the other bridesmaids. It was so nice to have met all of them and we got along so well. They are fairly talented in their own right and we are gathered together because of Jazz.

I was Jazz's floor manager (damn stressed, can?) and was busy running around. Thanks to both Rina and Ray for being so accommodating. =)

Let the pictures roll!!!

SWDS Anniversary Party 2015 - Fairy Tales come to life

Totally late in capturing this moment...better late than never...

So, we had to practice our routine over and over again since May. I missed out around 3 weeks coz of the Japan trip and mom being sick. We bought our bajus online for everyone, got hair accessories and our makeup and hair questions answered.

On 23 August 2015 it was SHOWTIME! (Actually that was one of the lines in our quickstep routine)

I had a bit more work to do prior and during the party as I was the emcee. *shy*

The day whished and whooshed by in a blink of an eye...and by the time it was over, I was really really worn out. *Phew*

In retrospect, everyone did well on their part. Kuddos to the party crew, dance teams, competitors...

Chinese Media Badminton Tournament by Datuk 陈振发

Today is the annual Chinese Media Badminton Tournament by Datuk 陈振发. It is held annually during the first day of Hari Raya as it is the Media Holiday. That explains also why I'm unable to visit WK for Raya.

We joined the tournament in the name of good spirits. We're not that strong a team so its the participation that counts.

Now I'm looking forward to tonight's dinner. Hopefully I have some luck with the lucky draw. Wish me luck!

#bellabettertogether2015

Last post I know. This was from last weekend. I had like 4 weekends back to back filled with activities! #achievementunlocked
Started from Singapore trip, Taipei trip, Bella weekend and this week's badminton tournament.

It was a 2D1N stay at Hotel Bangi-Putrajaya for #bellabettertogether2015

I went with VK as YF couldn't make it. We had hair, skin and makeup workshop before the gala dinner. Gala dinner was attended by celebrities i.e. Amber Chia, Jojo Goh, Aenie Wong, Lynn Lim (MC),  Chai Pei Xuan and a few more. We got the Melvita and Laneige gift set from the lucky draw. =)

Next day was sports day and treasure hunt. Unfortunately our team got number 5 our of 6. It is OK, its the experience that counts.

Let the picture do the talking...

Day 3 & 4 in Taipei

Day 3

After breakfast (we had 冷面) and headed out to Long Shan Temple (龙山寺) because it was too early to go to Taipei Main Station.

There were some prayers going on at the temple and we prayed our respects to the deities to bless us on our stay here.

The weather in Taipei is really hot (hotter than Malaysia). We were told that this summer is their hottest one yet! And we came right smack in the middle of it. #sohotcandie

After the temple, we went to Taipei Main Station for some shopping. VK's motive was to buy toys for the kids. And there was so many shops selling! The whole floor of Y section sells anything and everything (clothes, shoes, adults, kids, bags, foods, toys). There is also a section at the end where there are mirrors all around for people to practice their dance. After walking the whole area, we went back to our apartment as VK needed to rest.

At night we went to Raohe Market with the intention to buy PIGI bags. And we explored quite a bit at the area behind our apartment. Would not mind to stay here again next time.

Day 4

Out last day at Taipei. We only managed for breakfast behind the area and while waiting for our taxi (Merz) we packed our last mintur stuff. And now at the airport waiting for our flight back home.

See ya Taiwan.
Malaysia I'm coming home...

Day 1 & 2 in Taipei

Day 1 flew by just like that as we were just settling ourselves in our new environment. As VK wasn't feeling quite well, we just confined ourselves around 忠孝东路 where we stayed. (忠孝东路走九遍 #lame) but the area is quite happening with lots of shops around, food, shopping centre...

Day 2 we went to Hua Shan market for their authentic Taiwanese Breakfast. We ordered鹹豆浆,甜豆浆,蛋卷,油条,葱花鹹餅. Yums!

After that we went to Dong Men market and walked around a bit. So many things to see and bought some stuff. We somehow managed to control what we bought...lol

Then it was to Maokong! I truly enjoyed the cable car ride up and we managed to get down from the peak just in time before they suspended the cable car operation due to forseen rain. *phew*

We then went to Xi Men (and I had a fall. Wtf). Xi Men looked different but feels the same. Haha whatever that means...we then had some street food, some shopping and ended with Japanese food. Quite yummy and reasonably priced.

Since it is too early to go head to Shilin market, we decided to come back to our apartment to chill. Manatau, it rained and I forsee we will not be going out after this...lol

2015 Overseas Solo Flying

Another overseas trip in a span of a week! (After Singapore, although that wasn't really a trip overseas. #dontcare) Yay! #achievementunlocked #jetsetter #notreally #purecoincidence #travelling #flyingalone #flyingsolo #anotherachievementunlocked

This time since VK is in Taipei for her marketing conference, she had asked whether I would want to join her as she is extending her trip. I'm OK so long as it is not another two week trip. I'm running out of budget. And leaves. Hahaha...

Am flying alone for both flights to and flo because (1) VK is already there (2) She is flying MAS and since I cannot justify the air ticket price, I chose to fly budget. #airasiawins

I must say flying alone does have its perks (and cons) but I'm trying to savour this flying solo time. I won't be travelling overseas soon after this (read: three overseas trip in three months. #anotherachievementunlocked
Which means I'm running low on Vitamin M) =p

Came early to the airport, self checked in and had breakfast. Some time to spare before boarding. Thought I just update a bit.

Bye KL.
Hello Taipei!

280615 Half day whirlwind trip to Lion City!

I know rite. =)

Sounds crazy but it is true.

We didn't know that it will end so early for us. In fact I'm quite disappointed. We managed to see a few places (Merlion, Orchard Road, Clarke Quay) and managed to spend around 40 mins at my Aunt's place in Chinatown.

All and all, it was still okay.

Imma gonna leave some photos here while I snooze back to KL. =p

Folding the Marie Kondo way

I feel so accomplished today!

I just got to know about the way to tidy Marie Kondo's way a while ago and googled on YouTube yesterday for the methods.

I didn't really follow 100% yet as some of the items are not mine (VK's) and only got started on my stuff. The folding method really impressed me! I can actually store more (I don't really know why) and I felt so wonderful!

Got rid lots of paper stuff, donated books and cleared lots of other stuff as well...I felt that I could do more! Yesterday night after I watched a few folding videos, I cleared some part of my wardrobe till 1am! This morning after breakfast, I tackled the other section of my wardrobe, table, files, books, etc. I've never been so excited to clear my room. Ever.

I will need to clear the others next week and I can't wait!

In the meantime, I also got to transfer my wallet. I got a Samantha Vega wallet from my Japan trip. It's like an early birthday present!

So love! <3

Trip down South...Day 2

We had breakfast in the morning with WK and his in-laws at the mamak nearby. Had a nice time playing peekaboo with Rayyan.

Then it is off to see 小姨婆 whom I haven't met in a long time. So nice to be in her house (I haven't been into since she moved) and to meeting her daughters. This has been quite a nostalgic trip for me.

For lunch 小姨婆 brought us to Tea Garden and I had 绿豆爽 which I haven't been able to get in KL. I had to ORDER it!

Then we adjourned to Malacca to have dinner with the Grandparents. And bought a cake to celebrate...just...

Overall, it was a nice trip back to somewhere so dear to me. I haven't been back in a while and it's good to be back. Kudos to Dad for driving these two days. He mentioned that we are more tired than he is and its true. My Superman...
